Adwords And Google Data Studio: Wordstream Alternative

May 22, 2019 0

I’ve been managing Google Adwords campaigns for political campaigns mostly but recently I stepped out into managing the Adwords campaigns for an IT consulting company. It’s a little bit of a challenge I’m not going to lie. More than just matching the search with the keyword I need to attract only business customer and cut out residential. So as you can image someone Googles “IT Help Desks” and they might be looking for a specific help desk, a personal help desk or a help desk to contract business services too. Wordstream Free Alternative In Ultimate SEO‘s  struggle to compete in this expensive market I tried Wordstream out for a week and a half of so and thats really not enough time to get much actionable help. I was pulled into a sales demo consultation and sure it seemed like it could offer insights but WOW … the expense associated […]

SEO & PPC Data Studio Report Using Adwords, Google Analytics and Google Search Console All-In-One Template Google Data Studio Reports are some fun things.  Here at Ultimate SEO you love visualizations and thats partially why we like Data Studio. Beyond the looks its also integrated easily with Google Sheets, Google Analytics and Search Console to name a few. These few though create a powerful free SEO PPC tool. You can check out the report directly by clicking the link above, here is an embedded look at the nine pages of live data thats basically always right.  It’s nice to be able to pull in data from two very different Google tools.  Lots of people know of Google Analytics and think it covers Google Search Console but it doesn’t and I’ll discuss that more in another post but the unique data from these sources can all mix to form one handy live […]

PBNs: Private Blog Network – The Crack Habit Of SEO

May 22, 2019 0

First off, lets note that PBNs are not viewed well in traditional SEO and are hunted like witches in Massachusetts in the 1600s.  They must be large to matter, having anywhere between 20 to several thousand sites. They are the equivalent of building dozens of WordPress sites taking hours and hours from other SEO opportunities. They work. What Are Private Blog Networks? Private or Personal Blog Networks, PBNs are sites built with the purpose of providing backlinks to another site.  This other site is often called “the money site.”  Google is known to be hostile to these sites and prone to deindexing those associated. It’s not as simple though to say dont have one, it may destroy you and your site.  It also has a very good chance to increase rankings, keywords and site visibility. It is an search engine optimization (SEO) strategy both loved and hated by many SEO […]

Backlinks 101 – SEO’s Off-page Often Ignored Power Ranker

May 22, 2019 0

Backlinks 101 First off a little disclosure this article over laps the Backlinks category of the FAQ. What Are Backlinks? Backlinks are links from other sites.  Think of them as votes of affirmation.  Only one vote can come from a domain so for SEO purposes it doesn’t matter if there are 100 or 1 link from […]

Updates That Matter AND Updates That Don’t :SEO Basics

May 21, 2019 0

This post was originally made 3/7/2019 but was lost during a restoration from backup while Ultimate SEO was dealing with a DOS attack. Updates That Matter AND Updates That Don’t I’ve heard things come in threes so curious whats next because 2 big updates this week are out.  Now unfortunately the one that matters is unlikely to gain as much attention as the one that doesn’t mean anything.  So lets begin on what folks are focused on…something that means nothing. MOZ Domain Authority 2.0 Moz redid their Domain Authoritycalculations and the implications are HUGE for those who workat Moz.  If you don’t workthere then its not a big deal.  Domain Authorityis like a fake credit score.  Your bank will likely use your FICA score but no one can release your FICA score to you but FICA.  To solve this banks and other organizations created their own scoring systems that attempted […]

Quiet Please SEO Experiment In Progress

May 20, 2019 0

Mission: Build And Rank A New Site On An Old Site’s Bones In 4 Months Little projects with new clients are often the projects that grow into a real relationship of trust and business.  This post is half freelancer experience and half SEO case study.   Freelancer Experience Every huge large project I’ve interviewed for has include 50 or more other people seeking the same job on Upwork.  If that wasn’t the case the client didn’t end up doing the project and any effort I spent on getting their attention has been a waste.  What has work for me…the small projects. With the small projects the client basically gets to see what you’re made of in a low stakes kinda way.  Thats the case in my current largest project Openwalls. The client was looking to buy an existing site that had decent authority in the niche of health.  With my […]

Superlatives of SEO – 140 Names To Follow

May 20, 2019 0

TOP SEO’S NAMED BY SMALL CLOSED GROUP I’m not a fan of ranked lists and they take me back to middle school lunch room sitting, where a self created elite define a class system.  BUT I do like that the list offers a wide range of people you may not have heard of.  Knowledge gaps can be closed when you step out of your comfort blogs and into unknown ones. I’m going to pull a slight twist though and rather than repeat the names of the whos who …. here are the links to the articles they recommended.  So the focus is on the knowledge not the name. IFTTT Loses Gmail Service

May 18, 2019 0

Much of the info in this post is from an article on engadget.  I became aware of the situation as I was working to build an IFTTT applet that would change my office lights to red if a website went down and I got an email about it from Uptime Robot.  That applet can probably still be made but just not using Gmail anymore as a trigger. From Endadget: Google’s push to tighten third-party API access is already going to cost the world Google+, but a change that more of you might notice is coming to IFTTT. The service sent out emails alerting users that their “recipe” scripts involving Gmail triggers and an action that could create a draft will go away as of March 31st. According to Google, the shift is a result of the Project Strobe sweep it announced last October. IFTTT said it worked with Google to […]
